THE ETCHING YEAR
Printmaking

The Etching Year provides an outstanding opportunity for students to specialise in intaglio printmaking. Taught by artist and printmaker Rob White, the course includes basic techniques such as dry point, soft ground and hard ground through to more advanced techniques including sugar lift, spit bite, chine collee and photopolymer. After a thorough grounding in techniques, including inking and printing to a professional standard the students have produced either a pair of prints or a single more complex print for the exhibition. It is clear from looking at the prints that everyone has found their own personal language, through exploring technique and intention together in their prints.
The course runs next year, starting on Wednesday 2 November until 5 July.
