Garnering

This exhibition presents a body of work created by eleven students on Morley College’s Fine Art Mentoring Course directed by artist and course director Erika Winstone. Presented under the title ‘Garnering’, the works shown are the result of a period dedicated to refining each student’s artistic practice through group reflection, conversation and revision guided by Erika. Over the course of a year students have used the classroom as a fertile ground to distil their individual work towards greater contextual and technical maturity through the sharing and collecting of knowledge and ideas with each other and the visiting tutors. Each student has explored their own themes through a range of media, including painting, film, sculpture and drawing.
