The Contemporary Glass Society (CGS) and Morley College London are hosting a special day of talks by artists and makers to explore how creative ideas are transformed into finished glass artworks. “Ideas and Translations in Glass”, takes place tomorrow, Saturday 16th May, at the North Kensington Centre for Skills.

The Contemporary Glass Society supports both established glass artists and up-and-coming makers’ and promotes contemporary glass to the art world and wider public. The day will centre on the theme of “translating ideas into glass, highlighting the wide range of approaches artists take when moving from concept to creation”. Each speaker will bring a unique perspective “offering valuable insight and inspiration for those looking to expand their creative boundaries and experiment further within the medium.”

The event welcomes distinguished speakers including Joseph Harrington, Jo Guile, and Dr Helen Slater alongside accomplished former Morley College students – April HillingRoss, Natasha Redina, and Caroline Reed, who will share insights into their practices.
