Dan Howard-Birt: ‘Boats and Buoys (Orange, Lemon and Magnolia)' 2017-21.
This is the last week to see the evidence – curated by Erika Winstone – that good artists teach at Morley College, with works by @erikawinstone
@rosalindnldavis @chaplachap @justinjhibbs #fabianpeake
@barbara_nicholls
@anne_ryan_painter @susansluglettas well as @danhowardbirt at Morley College Gallery. His multi-part painting with canvas inserts cites Thom Gunn and Louis MacNiece along with various artistic languages and imaginary book cover slogans: it’s quite a feat to wrestle all that into coherence… no wonder it took a few years.

It's tempting to quote 'Meeting Point':

Time was away and somewhere else,

There were two glasses and two chairs

And two people with the one pulse

(Somebody stopped the moving stairs):

Time was away and somewhere else.
