Fashion

The Fashion programme includes a wide selection of Non-Accredited & Accredited courses at all levels; from beginners through to advanced. Learn new skills for fun or extend existing skills in a range of courses including Clothes Making, Pattern Cutting, Tailoring, Costume, Millinery, Bag Making, Design and Styling. We have well-equipped dedicated Specialist fashion studios with specialist machinery & equipment industrial & domestic machines.

Students on our non- accredited courses have progressed to accredited courses such as HNC Millinery, Access to HE Fashion , BA and Pre -MA Fashion Courses .Others have gone on to secure roles at high profile companies such as Stephen Jones and The Royal Opera House, or have set up their own businesses. Many of our students are on BA courses, or are professionals working in the Fashion Industry and come to top up their skills. Others come to learn new skills either with the aim of changing their career pathway, or purely for enjoyment .

All our Tutors are subject specialists ,with extensive experience in the Fashion Industry, who have worked with designers & retailers in London, Paris and New York.

Our Costume ,Dance wear & Tailoring Tutors have worked on high profile productions including films such as  ‘Far From the Madding Crowd’ and ‘The Young Victoria’ and theatre productions such as ‘The Lion King’ and ‘Les Miserables’. They have experience in working with TV, film, opera and ballet companies, including The Royal Ballet, Royal Opera, and ENO, creating garments for world-class artistes such as ; Bryn Terfel, Darcey Bussell and Carlos Acosta.

Our Millinery Tutors have experience of creating hats for high end catwalk Designers , The Royal family and celebrity clients.

 Millinery students have been finalists in national competitions, such as the Worshipful Company of Felt makers Design Award and the Inspired by V&A competitions .They have collaborated with students from other specialisms e.g. LSBU Theatre Students to create headpieces for theatre productions and have linked up via a photoshoot with the photography Department .Morley College Waterloo is the main hub for London Hat week 2020.
