Printmaking & Bookbinding

It is with great pleasure that Morley College Printmaking & Bookbinding celebrate and share a wide selection of prints and books made by our inspirational adult learners in 2020.

Curated by Morley Gallery Managers, the Department is showcasing a diverse range of work, reflecting the broad range of talent amongst our learners from beginners to more experienced artists.

.On display techniques include traditional intaglio etching, relief techniques i.e. lino and woodcut as well as more up to date digital processes including photo etching, photopolymer and photo-litho.

Morley Printmaking & Bookbinding Department maintains an excellent reputation for quality and professionalism. With its strong historical connections many prints, donated or purchased, can be spotted around the College including the celebrated murals in the Refectory painted by Eric Ravilious and Edward Bawden.

With three well-appointed studios, we offer a fantastic range of art courses from short daily courses to twelve week terms. All of our courses encourage students to explore and develop their creative outlet and, if required, expand their portfolio to pursue M.A. courses or exhibition opportunities.

Our tutors are all practicing professional artists with expertise not only in their technical knowledge but in the current vibrant art world.

Always willing to go the extra mile, they will do their very best to accommodate and inspire students from setting inspirational projects to organising trips to London galleries and encouraging students to attend the popular free Morley artists talks.

More often than not strong friendship bonds form in the class. This is a special quality that we like to encourage in our classes and within the wider community of Morley.

We hope you will be inspired by what you see and feel willing to join us in future Printmaking and Bookbinding courses.
